Major and Alternative Interests
Fashion has always been a big interest of mine, since I was a kid, I loved putting pieces together seeing what works and what doesn't. This quickly led me to want to be a stylist for other people to get the chance to be fashionable too, so, it was no surprise when college came, I chose to major in Textile, Apparel, and Merchandising with a concentration in Design. After college I plan on starting my own business through media with the hope of reaching people for the want of a renovated look.
If this was not my major, I would choose Marketing. I would work Digital Marketing because I would still get the opportunity to capture the moments of what looks good for it to be appealing to one's eye.
Academic Reflection
My favorite course I have taken this semester is TAM 2032; Fashion Illustration. With minimum knowledge about Fashion Illustrations, this class had been super eventful leaving me wondering what's next. I have always been into doing hands on projects and through this class I have learned how to efficiently draw a croque and accurately draw sketches quick.
My most challenging course I have taken this semester would be REL 1005; Religion. This class is full of history and that is not my strongest subject because you have to memorize a lot of events in the past, so I have had the hardest time in here.
Going forward to next semester, my best resource is all of the mentors LSU provides me and the student success one-stop. It is so nice to know you always have someone when you need help with school, and I have talked to my mentor's numerus times when I'm struggling, and they never disappoint. The Student Sucess One-Stop has always been beneficial because you can go with any question, and they always point you in the right way.
Planning for the Future
After this Fall semester, I will need to take TAM 2038 and 1100 in my spring semester of 2025 in order to stay on track with my degree plan. Expanding my knowledge throughout the courses of my degree plan, will lead me to complete the degree to pursue the job I love most.
