団体について

当団体(以下:AVA)は美術大学に在籍する学生や若手作家を中心として立ち上げられた団体です。「Contemporaryart(現代美術)」を語源に遡り、「com（一緒に、共に）」、「temporarius（時間の）」、「ars(技術、芸術)」に解体し「世界全体が同じ時間を共有する時代の問題について技術＝芸術とは何か」という問いから芸術の研究と実践を目的に設立されました。

         国や地域を跨ぎ「時間」および「社会」が繋がることによって生じた問題は「芸術」を含め様々な領域において共有されています。そしてそのような状況において領域を越えた議論や実践が要請されていますが、日本の芸術の領域、大学などの教育機関では事実上そのような取り組みはまだほとんど停滞した状況になっています。コロナ禍における大学の機能不全、規制の厳格化や学生の集まりにくさなどもこの停滞の大きな要因として働いていると言えるでしょう。

           AVAでは「芸術」を「現代(Contemporary)」という時代の枠組みを構成する問題を乗り越える実践と捉え、人文学と自然科学などの諸領域とのインタラクティブな関係性を、新しい形で築き上げることを目指しています。

           つまり私たちが目指すものは、大学教育機関などの制度的な問題の外部にある全く新しい学校です。

           この場において私たちが目指すのは、様々なアクティビティが展開され、それぞれが具体的な創造活動を促進する実践の場となること。研究や製造の成果を広く社会に発信し、異なる領域を結びつけるメディアとしての機能を果たすことです。

About the Organization

 Our organization, AVA, was established with the primary focus on students and young artists enrolled in art universities. The name "AVA" is derived from "Contemporary art," breaking down to "com" (together, with), "temporarius" (of time), and "ars" (technique, art), aiming to explore the question of "what is art in the context of a time when the whole world shares the same time" through research and practice of art.

 Issues arising from the interconnection of "time" and "society" across countries and regions are shared in various fields, including "art." In such a situation, discussions and practices that transcend disciplines are required. However, in Japan, the field of art and educational institutions such as universities are largely stagnant in such initiatives. Factors such as the dysfunction of universities during the COVID-19 pandemic, stricter regulations, and the difficulty for students to gather also contribute significantly to this stagnation.

 AVA aims to overcome the challenges of defining "art" in the framework of the contemporary era and aims to establish an interactive relationship between various fields such as the humanities and natural sciences in a new way.

 In essence, what we aim for is an entirely new school that exists outside the institutional problems of university education and the like. In this context, our goal is to create a space where various activities are conducted, each promoting specific creative activities. We aim to disseminate the results of research and production widely to society and serve as a media that connects different fields.
