Marcel is a Ph.D. researcher at RWTH Aachen University and Fraunhofer FKIE. His research focuses on the realization of intuitive human-machine cooperation through design and observation of interaction patterns. The method of exploration plays a crucial part in the design process of these patterns.
Joscha obtained his Ph.D. in Design & Usability for Driverless Public Transport Vehicles at the National Transport Design Centre & HORIBA Mira, England. His main research fields at Fraunhofer FKIE are usability and user experience and participatory design for driving automation.
Nicolas obtained his Ph.D. in Psychology at RWTH Aachen University, Germany on the topic of the detection of driver takeover capabilities. He is research group manager at RWTH Aachen and Fraunhofer FKIE in Aachen.
His current research focus is on the topics of cooperative vehicle guidance and control, operator monitoring, and participatory evaluation of new vehicle concepts.
Frank is professor for Human Systems Integration at the RWTH Aachen University and branch head for balanced Human Systems Integration at Fraunhofer.
For more than the past 30 years, Frank Flemisch is a Human Systems Integrator in the domains of aviation, highly automated driving, industry 4.0 and defense systems. He and his teams coined the terms partially and highly automated driving, cooperative systems and system exploration. Participatory design has always been at the very core of his research.
