I believe in working in an honest, ethical and sustainable manner. I have come to this understanding of my professional values from the courses I have taken in Business Ethics as well as Sustainable Business Theory & Practice. I have come to the understanding that businesses have put us into the situation our planet is currently in and they are the ones who will be able slowly pull us out.
The Sulitest was an eye opening experience because it focuses on the global impact of sustainability and not just the United States. I have learned a lot in my courses about what companies are doing to reduce their impact. Most of that only pertains to the United States. I was fairly surprised that I did as well as I did on the global portion of the exam. It was also eye opening to see the real numbers and how many people in the rest of the world truly need help.
I was surprised by my score on the nation wide part of the exam. I thought that I would know more about the struggles inside my country but it turns out that things are pretty bad over here as well. I am grateful I was able to take this exam and learn as much as I did. It solidifies my preexisting notion that companies need to do all they can to reverse the damage that has been done. So many people in the world without clean water, shelter, food to eat and the list goes on and on. I was shocked to see how much of that is in our country considering we are thought of as the "superpower" of the world.
