House Rules
These are rules all participants will be asked to read and agree to before any repair sessions at every Repair Cafe event.
I understand that the Aurora Repair Cafe does not necessarily have all expertise to fix or improve every type of equipment or material.
I understand that the work carried out at the Aurora Repair Cafe is performed free of charge on a voluntary basis by repair experts at hand, known as Volunteer Coaches.
I expressly understand that a repair cafe is supported by unpaid volunteers with repair expertise who may or may not have a professional license to fix or improve every type of equipment or material.
I understand I will be instructed and guided by a Volunteer Coach to carry out the repairs myself, whenever possible.
I understand the broken item I have brought in for repair is at my own risk.
I understand Volunteer Coaches making repairs offer no guarantee for the repairs carried out with their help and are not liable if objects that are repaired in the Aurora Repair Cafe turn out not to work properly at home.
I understand Volunteer Coaches are entitled to refuse to repair certain objects.
I understand Volunteer Coaches are not obliged to reassemble disassembled appliances that cannot be repaired.
I understand I am responsible for the tidy removal of broken objects that could not be repaired.
I understand I can sign up to repair a maximum of ONE broken item per session. It is at the discretion of the Aurora Repair Cafe organizers if there is availability for a second item to be examined and repaired.
I expressly understand not all equipment or materials presented for repair can be fixed or improved at a repair cafe, and may be returned in whole, in parts, or otherwise unrepaired or irreparable.
I understand any interactions with Volunteer Coaches outside of Aurora Repair Cafe events is at my own discretion.
