Equipment

Kitchen

• Open cupboards and drawers to find all necessary items

• In order to prevent damage to the dining table, please yse either table cloth or place mats (drawer under the oven)

• The oven is a combi-oven.  You will find the manual of the oven in the small drawer under the oven.

• The cooking plate is on induction.  You will find its manual in the small drawer under the oven as well.

• The cupboard nearest to the door door is arranged as a wardrobe.

Bathroom

• The shower blocks automatically at a safe temperature.  Pressing the little button on the tap allows to have higher temperature.

• Ventilation: see utilities

• Toilet: pressing the little button is used to flush a little water.

• Extra toilet paper can be found in the red plastic drawer in the white shelves.

• Extra towels can be found in the locker in the parents room.

Store room upstairs

contains cleaning material, an iron, a hoover, ...

Garden shed

• To open the garden shed, use the key with blue in the middle, which you can find in the orange cupboard in the entrance.

• The garden shed contans outdoor materials (e.g. BBQ, outdoor table and benches, sun loungers) as well as beach material

Parents room

• Extra towels: in the lockers

• Extra bed linnen: in the rattan box

• grey laundry basket to put used linnen/laundry

Attic

• Under the sloping roof, behind sliding doors: toys and stools

• Bath tub

• Books in English, French and German on the shelves

Living room

• TV and radio

• In the drawers: board games, videos, novels, craft materials, tourist info, manuals of appliances

Utilities

Electricity

You can find the fuse box in the orange cupboard in the entrance. While being absent for a longer time, please switch of all fuses and/or the main fuse.

Heating

The thermostat is located in the living room, between the door and the window on the dark blue wall.  While being absent for a longer time, we switch of the heating or keep it at night level or frost free level.  The different programs are

• program 1 : 19 °C during the day and 10 °C at night = recommended program

• night (10 °C): indicated with a moon

• frost free (6 °C): indicated with an ice crystal

• day (19 °C): indicated with a sun

The temparature can be adjusted at any time using the arrows: arrow up = warmer, arrow down = cooler.  Leaving the house at departure, please put the thermostat at frost free (ice crystal)

Garbage

• Glass can be put in the glass container at the town square (100 m), August Meyneplein.  It is for free

• Paper and cardboard can be left in the house in the garden shed

• Other garbage can be put in an underground container at the town square.  You need a coin of 50 eurocent for it.  Please, when leaving, do not leave it in the house in order to avoid it to rot.

Keys

Spare keys and the keays for the post box can be found in the orange cupboard in the entrance.  

Ventilation

The house is ventilated by mechanical extraction.  You can found the (round) switch in the orange cupboard in the entrance.  It has 3 positions.  When taking a shower, it might be usefull to put it in the highest position, but otherwise, the lowest position is fine.  Normally, you don not have to change anything in relation to the ventilation system.

Warm water supply

The boiler for heating and hot tap water is located in the attic (grey cupbaard). When water tap is turned open, gas is switched on and electricity is on (water, gas and electricity all to be switched on in the orange cupboard in the entrance), the boiler will supply hot water both a tap water and as heating.
