Mentor and Principal investigator at the Loverde's lab. Professor Loverde is a professor in the department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She uses computational techniques including MD simulation and free energy calculations to study biophysical systems including the nucleosome core particle.
Dr. Moulick joined the Loverde's lab as a postdoctoral fellow at the department of Chemistry, City University of New- College of Staten Island. Dr. Moulick got his Ph.D in Theoretical Soft Matter Physics, from the S. N. Bose National Centre For Basic Sciences , 2023. He will be joining Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - KIT in Germany on October 2024.
Rutika Patel is a senior graduate student at the Loverde's lab. She uses MD simulation and Markov state modelling to study the dynamics of the nucleosome as implicated in histone acetylation during post-translational modification. Her work on "Conformational Dynamics of the Nucleosomal Histone H2B Tails Revealed by Molecular Dynamics Simulations" has been published in the Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling.
Chris is a senior graduate student co-mentored by Professor Sharon Loverde and Professor Sebastièn Poget. Chris uses biophysical techniques like Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Isothermal Titration Calorimetry to study biological systems. Augustine and Chris collaborate closely to understand the dynamics of the NCP upon mutation as seen in different cancer types.
Tania is a graduate student Biochemistry program who uses free energy methods and molecular dynamic simulation to study charged peptides and the nucleosome. Skillful is high performance computing, Tania utilizes computing clusters like Bridges-2 for her calculations.
Joel is a graduate student in the department of Chemistry at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. He is been mentored by Professor Sharon Loverde at the College of Staten Island. Joel studies the intermolecular interaction of the drug molecule camptothecin. Joel has also explored the responses of lactam-fused tropolones to dynamic environmental factors.
