CHESS CLUB ACTIVITIES
JUNIOR GRANDMASTERS’ CLUB
Club Description:
Elementary library Junior Grandmaster Club composed of selected pupils of elementary department from grade 4 to 6 levels. During the school year club members compete to each other in different level of difficulties (beginners’ level, expert level, and professional level). Winners of this tournament are awarded of medal with certificates and champion is awarded a title as the “Junior Grandmaster of the Year” during recognition day.
General Objectives:
1. Develops their social skills and critical thinking
2. Sportsmanship
3. Promote interest in educational board games
4. Promote love of libraries as one of social place for kids.
The Junior Grandmaster Club aims to:
1. Familiarize chess pieces
2. Familiarize chess techniques and strategies;
3. Familiarize chess rules and basic principles
4. Participate and prepare interschool tournament.
5. Become an active member of library.
