Through this program, you can earn SAVMA points by participating in community service projects. For each event, you can earn a 1/2 SAVMA point with the maximum amount per semester being 2 points (4 events total). Events must take place during the current semester and cannot be counted from previous semesters.
In order to receive these points, you must complete the following steps. Failure to follow any of the steps will result in no points being awarded.
1. You must take a picture at the event that includes you and at least TWO other AUCVM veterinary students for a total of at least THREE people in the photo. You can have more than three. There is no maximum.
2. You must email that picture to Alia Frech (aaf0044@auburn.edu) with the subject SAVMA Volunteer Points . It must include this subject or your submission will not be counted!
3. In the same email, you must include the NAMES and CLASSES of everyone in the photo. If more than 5 people are in the photo, then the list of names needs to be organized alphabetically and by class.
4. You also need to include a brief description of the service project. Include name, date, and organization/group involved.
Community service projects are defined as any event outside of class that helps or provides a service to a community/organization. Class philanthropy projects are eligible. If you help organize community service events and feel your event might be eligible, please email Lauren Finney (lgf0003@auburn.edu)
We hope for the success of this program and that students will enjoy earning SAVMA points by helping others.
