Shelby SafePet removes barriers that cause victims of domestic violence to choose between protecting themselves by entering an emergency shelter
or protecting their pets by staying to care for them in an abusive home.
We have built and continue to expand a statewide network of emergency shelters, veterinarians and volunteers to safely care for pets owned by victims of domestic violence. Veterinary care, food and boarding, and pet deposits will be provided at no cost to victims until they can be reunited with their pets.
