Tim Sharp, an original member of the Attaway Appeal, is a reliable journalist with a knack for finding the scoop. One of his most popular stories is that of Robin Robbins and the original Chicken Girls, a girl group that swept Attaway in 1985 and is responsible for the infamous “Birds of a Feather” song. He earned the title of editor-in-chief in his sophomore year and was the first freshman to be featured on the cover of the Appeal twice.
Rhyme McAdams, a junior, first tried her hand at journalism when writing a piece on the great home economics debate where she sparked a school-wide movement. Since then she has contributed to many other powerful stories like the source of the mysterious stench and the happenings of the Mr.Attaway competition. Her writing abilities allowed her to quickly move through the ranks at the Appeal, winning her both a journalism award as a freshman and the title of editor in her junior year.
Stephanie Stewart is a photographer for the Appeal who has demonstrated a natural ability since joining the team. Having picked up the camera during her sophomore year, the recent graduate credits her expertise to Rooney Forrester who acted as her mentor in the earlier years. One of the first displays of her work can be found in the Appeal issue about the Pep Rally, where Stewart beautifully captured the atmosphere of the event. When asked about her favorite part of being on the Appeal staff, Stephanie said "I love being creative, and feel like I get along better with others who are creative too. Being on the Attaway Appeal really helped me to find a new group of creatives to be around."
Transfer student Ezra Grant joined the Attaway Appeal soon after starting at Attaway and quickly showed his knack for journalism. He established a reputation as a strong writer when he published a counterargument piece in the home economics debate and offered his two cents on the topic. Grant has jumped in with both feet despite his recent start and has been a great addition to the Appeal.
Our youngest member of the Appeal, Leyla is the first middle schooler to become a member of staff. She was first hired by Rooney as a coder to update the Appeal website where her technology skills landed her the job of web designer. She made her journalistic debut recently when she had an opportunity to write about the protests of Attaway Day. She still has a lot to learn as a junior member, but has proved to be an outstanding member of staff for the Appeal.
