Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020, 6-9pm

Agnes Scott College, McCain Library, Rm 211

141 E. College Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030

Wikipedia is the fifth most popular website in the world, notching up more than 32 million views a day. However, less than 18%, of its English-language biographies are about women. Our goal is to increase the recognition and respect for the achievements of women in every sector of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. At this edit-a-thon, we'll give you the tools to get started as a Wikipedia Editor and we'll work to edit and add more entries. Together we'll make the Internet a little less sexist.

This free event will feature:

  • FREE childcare, and on-site parking

  • Complimentary dinner!

  • Casual, family-friendly atmosphere

  • Real-time training with Wikipedia experts

Follow the instructions so that you can come prepared to get started!

This event is generously sponsored by a Wikimedia Rapid Grant and is supported by the collaborative efforts of Atlanta 500 Women Scientists, the Georgia Association for Women in Science, Agnes Scott College McCain Library, and Emory University Libraries.
