Tombstone is a rough-and-tumble mining settlement, built from the remnants of a pre-war boomtown and nestled deep in the heart of North Island's dense wilderness. The residents of Tombstone are a superstitious and fiercely independent lot, known for a distrust of outsiders and rumored tales of ghostly hauntings.
If you dare to brave the frontier and visit this isolated hamlet, here's some things to know:
Things have started looking worse for Tombstone as ATLAS Earth and Winthrop take control over more and more of the town. While Winthrop has established an office on the edge of town, pollution from the ATLAS factory on the hill has started taking its toll of the town, and a smoggy gray mist hangs in the air.
On the edge of town, a mercenary army has been growing inside of the Winthrop Offices. Why they're there, is uncertain-- but nobody likes where things are headed.
Tombstone operates on its own silver-backed currency, known as Stamps, and locals are notorious for their reluctance to accept anything other than their own. A Stamp is roughly equal to one 2023 USD, and can be obtained through services to the town or exchanging Northeastern Dollars at the local bank-- at a less than favorable exchange rate. Tombstone's more wealthy residents and visitors tend to skip Stamps entirely, and trade directly in silver instead.
Opportunity takes many forms in Tombstone, and labor is in no short demand. Put your skills to the test in one of the the many businesses in town, or take the law into your own hands and become a deputized enforcer of peace under the iron-willed Sheriff Dimes. Keep an eye out for the silver badge, which which marks the deputies of Tombstone. Embark on additional, special quests with Tombstone residents to earn fortune, favor, and treasure within the isolated community.
