Intro

The Association of Teachers of English in Senegal is a national platform created in 1976. It is composed of all the Senegalese teachers of English (Junior and secondary schools as well as universities ones) whether in the public or private sector. Retired teachers can voluntarily keep being members.

The head office of the association is in Dakar.

ATES has 14 local chapters (one in each Region of Senegal) and has currently a total number of more than 1,000 members.

ATES is affiliated to international organizations such as TESOL International, Africa TESOL and IATEFL and has inspired many African Teachers Associations such as those of Mali, Rwanda, the Gambia, etc.
