For the first time in history, the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization of the UN will be held in Uzbekistan. More than 1,000 foreign guests will participate in this incredible event. This organization serves to promote the tourism potential of a country and attract more tourists.

The organizers have invited you, a world traveller, to set up a pavilion to showcase the wonders of Tajikistan. You and your team have much work to complete. It's time to plan ahead and begin with the preparations.

You and your team of fellow travelers will choose from a plethora of topics. Before setting up your pavilion at the World Tourism Organization event, you will practice for the event at your school. Not only will you learn from each other but you will also teach your school community.

You will choose a partner for this adventure. Look at the topics outlined in the resource file below (Topics). Choose one. Make sure you inform your teacher what you would like to learn about so that she writes your names. First come, first served.

Your team will recreate the pavilion you will showcase at the World Tourism Organization event. Use trifolds to display your information and teach others about your discoveries. The topic list has ideas and suggestions about what you should include. Be creative! Make your displays interactive. We want everyone to learn about the treasures of Tajikistan.

You will also be partnering with the nonprofit GlobalGiving. Your project will improve access to quality education by rural children in Tajikistan through construction and renovation of existing schools. You will hold a fundraiser at your World Tourism Organization fair. In this way, you and your team will be contributing to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG #4.
