Claudia, as the World
Francesca, as Sanmeria the Scoundrel
Ivan, as Dayne the Warrior
Angelo, as Cedric the Priest

First the World explained what a game of Fantasy World is all about.
Then the World presented the fundamental truth of any Fantasy World setting:
magic is real - people know it exists from tales, folklore and direct experience
gods are silent - true believers see the signs, know the omens and recognise the miracles
cities are rare - distant points of light adrift in the vast darkness of an untamed land
travel is perilous - communication and trade are possible but very unpredictable and taxing
Finally we started chatting about the kind of game we would have liked to play:
classic medieval mittel-european setting
mice-people living in a "little world" of their own
NO. HAMTARO.
humans exist but are "far away" from us
Due to what later happened in the Fellowship creation we also ended up establishing a few more details:
the main stage (for now) is the mice-city of Cheddarwood
it is located in the countryside, just where the trees start forming the eponymous wood
it is an upside-down city...
the surface at ground level is exposed and dangerous, so it houses the poor and dispossessed and criminals
the deeper you go, the safer you are, the more luxurious it gets; nobles and rich merchants live deep underground
there is a royal family of some sort
there is a so called "Guild" in charge of organised crime
being a relatively big city it houses people from neighbouring regions and some nomads too ... both of which get quite the stink-eye from local citizens
We named our fellowship as the Assassin's Cheese and opted to play the Blades in the Dark archetype.
Our turf is, of course, the city of Cheddarwood although we are not the only game in town, and definitely not the only one in the region.
Our concept is that of "shadows". That is to say, an individual cell operating within a larger organisation; the aforementioned Guild.
Our level of influence is "professionals": middle-tier agents with quite a reputation, but still far from the top of the hill, where legends and kingpins are.
We are mostly perceived as "bed fellas" because of our personal penchant to defy the royal family and the status quo it represents. Not true rebels, but still an outspoken pain in the butt. Thus the official propaganda paints us as enemies of the state.
Finally, our hideout is in the worst part of the city... on the surface! It lays inside the excavated trunk of a big tree. The actual common areas are half-buried under its roots. Some personal rooms are carved in old squirrel holes high up into the branches. The hideout is actually Guild property, so we are not the only ones there.
The final step was to create the individual members of our fellowship.
