In 2003, Hasbro introduced a new generic Asian head sculpt.

There were about 15 generic Asian figures in the various  ALPHA, Basic, BRAVO  and ECHO Assortment releases.

None in the Delta and Foxtrot Assortments.

The ethnic variation is randomly packed in each assortment case of figures. Consequently the item received may be Caucasian, Hispanic, African American or Asian.

In 2003, I purchased my first generic Asian head sculpt GI JOE from the Air Force Special Forces (Alpha Assortment - Asian, code # 81927) set.  

Only two of these generic Asian head sculpt figures were given "life-like" hair ...

2003, "Secret of the Planet Xenome"

2004 , "Secret of the Savage Swamp".

I was not able to find either of these when they were initially released.
