1998 442nd Infantry

In 1998, for the G.I. jOE® Classic Collection - WWII Forces, Hasbro created a new Asian head sculpt for the "442nd Infantry Nisei Soldier code #  #81473".

 The 442nd Infantry Regiment was an all Japanese-American battalion that fought in World War 2 European (Italy and France) campaigns.

They were known for their bravery and determination are the most highly decorated unit in the history of the United States armed forces.

These Japanese-Americans wanted to fight for the United States even though the government had recently sent them and their families to internment camps.

Includes:

GI  jOE® with new Asian head sculpt 12 inch action figure.

Equipment List:

Helmet with netting, wool knit cap, shirt, pants, combat boots, scarf, wool overcoat, duffle bag, web belt, two ammo pouches, canteen w/cover, first aid pouch, two grenades, M1 rifle w/strap, radio backpack and dog tags.

It would have been better if Hasbro used an action picture of the 442nd Infantry Nisei Soldier instead.
