In 2000, Hasbro reused the Asian head sculpt from the 1998 442nd Infantry Nisei Soldier for the "Hawaiian Territorial Guard code #81703" available exclusively through Toys R Us (TRU).

I guess in some weird way it makes sense to reuse this Asian head sculpt, since members that served in the HTG, were recruited into service with the 442nd following the attack on Pearl Harbor (read details below).

The Hawaiian Territorial Guard (HTG) was composed mostly of Japanese Americans. While defending & protecting, they showed great courage & heroism after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
