AAshlynn Delias is a Chicana poet, writer, and editor who believes words should have a pulse. Her work celebrates cultural inheritance while wrestling honestly with identity, faith, and becoming—often all at once. Rooted in her Chicana heritage and shaped by a deep love of story, her poetry lives at the crossroads of tradition and modern life, where healing is messy, God is not afraid of questions, and language does real work. When she’s not writing, you can probably find her two-stepping, chasing live music, or romanticizing the ordinary.
Her debut collection, Sana Sana, was released by FlowerSong Press in May 2025, following her earlier self-published book, Beauty and Ashes (2022). Her poems have also appeared in the Boundless and Unfolded anthologies (2023). Ashlynn is a graduate of Southwestern University, where she majored in Religion and minored in English—an academic pairing that deeply informs her writing. She is the recipient of the David Knox Porter Award for Theology and the Norman Spellman Award for Excellence in Religious Studies, and she is a proud member of Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Alpha Xi. She was named to the Dean’s List for seven semesters.
Beyond the page, Ashlynn has worked as a National Writer for HerCampus (2022–2023), a Sports Writer for the Williamson County Sun (2022–2024), and served as Editor-in-Chief of her university newspaper, The Megaphone. A writer to the core, she is endlessly curious, deeply committed to storytelling, and always chasing the sentence that tells the truth—even when it dances a little on the way there.
