My name is Ashley Cerku and I am a doctoral candidate in Anthropology at Michigan State University. My research focuses on historical photography, cultural heritage, community memory, and digital work. More specifically, I investigate the semiotic landscape of downtown main street and how digital technologies can provide a more immersive and inclusive approach to heritage preservation.
I am also the Manager of the Oakland University Writing Center where I facilitate staff collaboration and communication about new training implements, upcoming events, center management, and professional development as well as enhance the center's visibility by sponsoring educational programming for the campus community.
As a dedicated learner, instructor, creator, and writer, I am committed to guiding others in exploring and examining their own interests, while also helping them to accomplish their goals.
