One of the last remaining things for the remedial works to get the building finished is to remediate the bike store areas. These will need floors/wall panels removing and so bikes will need to be moved to make sure that the works to floors can happen. At the same time, to support the move and because there are a number of bikes that appear to be abandoned Newlon is doing a bike audit. Newlon's communication is available here and ATRA's FAQ is below. This supersedes previous letters/texts from Newlon and RCL.
Before the 2nd February you need to put a tag on your bike, which will show Newlon it is being actively used and is not abandoned. Newlon will remove any bikes not tagged on the 2nd February.
In addition, when your bike store is due to be remediated (see dates below) you must do one of the following by 8am on the Monday:
Move your bike to your flat/balcony
Move your bike to another bike store
Leave your bike unlocked. RCL will document and move your bike to another store for the week, where you can relock it and retrieve at the end of the week (or ask RCL for assistance). Bikes that are left unlocked and moved by RCL will only be secure up to 5pm on the first day of moving after which they are left unlocked at residents' risk.
If your bike is left locked in an affected bike store any locks will be cut, and the bike will be documented, relocated with other bikes and left unsecured in the alternate bike store for that week.
Once the bike store is complete you can move your bike back. We will ask that Newlon send SMS messages (and we will post on the FB group) whenever bike stores are complete.
The below are the latest dates as of 09/01. Printed notices displaying this schedule will also be placed on each bike store door.
Level 8 - 26th – 30th of January (bikes left will be relocated to L06)
Level 7 - 2nd – 6th of February (bikes left will be relocated to L05)
Level 6 - 9th – 13th of February (bikes left will be relocated to L04)
Level 5 -16th – 20th of February (bikes left will be relocated to L03)
Level 4 - 23rd – 27th of February (bikes left will be relocated to L02)
Level 3 - 2nd – 6th of March (bikes left will be relocated to L01)
Level 2 - 9th – 13th of March (bikes left will be relocated to L04)
Level 1 - 16th – 20th of March (bikes left will be relocated to L03)
Tags are used by Newlon to show which bikes are actively being used, and which have been abandoned. Any untagged bikes will be removed on the 2nd February and kept by Newlon for a period of time in case residents need to recover them. Locks that are cut will not be returned/compensated for.
If you need additional tags these will now be available from the concierge.
