The SSC offers peer tutoring for a wide majority of Lander courses. Students can sign up via the "Tutor Sign-Up" option in MyLander.
Students can also submit a tutor request for a subject that there is not currently a tutor assigned for.
Students who wish to become a tutor must make an A in the class they wish to tutor, as well as have an instructor recommendation and submit an application to the Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Coordinator.
Peer academic coaching is available to students who may be struggling with building the necessary skills to succeed in college. Academic coaches work one-on-one with students to help improve time management, study habits, and many more applicable skills.
The Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Coordinator oversees this program.
Students who are registered with Disability Services in the Wellness Center are eligible for certain accommodations. Many receive testing accommodations that allow for a quiet isolated area while testing. The Student Success and Retention Coordinator heads this support.
Instructors are encouraged to submit academic alerts for students who are struggling in their classes. Once an alert is put in, the Student Success and Retention Coordinator maintains communication with the student to put them on the right track toward success. This alert is received through Maxient and assigned to appropriate contact: https://cm.maxient.com/landerÂ
