These disabilities include intellectual disabilities, complex medical conditions, psychiatric disorders, or physical disabilities. Along with our community service work, we are also drafting a research proposal. The research is focused on understanding what barriers are the most significant in preventing this community from finding a dental home. Experience with working with patients with disabilities isn't necessary! All that is needed is a genuine interest in learning how to care for this population.
