Rocket Propulsion Course - March 2024
The final project for rocket propulsion at the University of Washington was to design and propose a rocket based on the payload, the ability to reach low earth orbit (LEO), and cost parameters. Component decisions, materials, heat transfer analysis, isentropic equations and more were analyzed on a team of six and presented to our class.
The final project for rocket propulsion at the University of Washington was to design and propose a rocket based on the payload, the ability to reach low earth orbit (LEO), and cost parameters. Component decisions, materials, heat transfer analysis, isentropic equations and more were analyzed on a team of six and presented to our class.
Although the team rotated most responsibilities, my specialty resulted primarily helping with material selection and the heat transfer components.
Isentropic equations with staging and mass analysis was conducted with the combined effort of CEA and MATLAB analysis.
The goal was to create a unique rocket that may be functional for the given purpose of the assignment as if we are proposing it as a real contract.
Project management and organization was also neccessary involving gannt charts and team hierarchal organizational skills.
This A A 462 course at the University of Washington - Seattle campus was approved to be waived for my 'Rocket Propulsion' graduate core requirement at the University of Southern California for my Masters in Astronautical Engineering.
