Note that these ideas were unanimously agreed upon to be open to the public as no one has decided to continue with the patenting process past the work done during this program.
My position as the primary investigator (PI) had me organize and oversee 12 other STEM students and professionals all with various research and design positions in order to investigate the original idea.
The research involves using frequency analysis of temperature in order to utilize a type of heat transfer technology and create power due only to temperature variation. Phase change materials have many properties that we thought could be used in heat transfer research.
The goal was to create an energy solution for the harsh environments of space. The geothermal technology could then power areas that cannot be solar powered over vast distances.
The proposal and further calculation/design information is available upon request.
