Your Entertainment This Evening ...
Freedom City was the first main show performed by the Arts Opportunity Theatre. It was written and produced by Reynold Duncan based on an idea by Yvonne Deutschmann.
These pages will take you through the story line. Photographs, screen-shots and audio from the first performance (St. Barnabas Hall August '81) and a later show (Little Theatre June '82) are combined with text from two sources.
- The programme from June 1982, when AOT was performing at the Little Theatre. This lists the Acts and Scenes, giving the basic story outline.
- A collection of Scene Summaries for a proposed TV version of the show from Reynold's archive (43798/TP/1/1). This provides the main body of the text, and has only been slightly ammended to fit the plot-line.
Special thanks to:
- Chris and Diane Potter for the photos of the first performance.
- Rob Pearce for the audio from that same first show.
- Nathan Lewis for the audio and screen-shots from the Little Theatre show.
All songs by Reynold Henry Duncan, except for 'African Opportunity' by L Porter-Blake.
