After viewing the introductory materials above, do some soft research. Gather images and notes about collagraph printing. An easy way to do this is using Pinterest, but there are other options (such as creating and publishing a Google Slide show). The directions below will be for the Pinterest method.
1. Go to Pinterest.com and create an account. Create a Printmaking board. You can expand on an existing board on Printmaking by adding images and notes or you can create a section within that board just for collagraph printing!
2. Search for "collagraph prints" and "collagraph printmaking." Then, refine your search to expand images that interest you and images of architecture by adding terms such as "collagraph printing architecture" or "collagraph printing nature" or "collagraph art" or "collagraph printing ocean." Be on the lookout for artists whose work you respect or find inspiring.
3. Pin 10-15 images that you think are helpful in learning to about collagraph printing. Make note of questions that arise as you look at the imagery.
4.. Share a link to your board in the designated location in your course. Also share questions that arised as a part of the research process. (Be sure you share your board; no secret boards--or we will not be able to see it)
Tips: .
A good search of images should evoke curiosity.
You do not have to use your real name for your Pinterest account, as long as all of us know who you are.
Please look at other student's boards after creating your own. This helps to give each of you unique pins. While it is absolutely okay to pin one another's great inspiration, you should have unique finds of your own to share.
