There are several ways to Export out of Toonboom Harmony
How to export a Movie File
(This works for vector or bitmap, However there is No transparency option)
1- By default, Toonboom will export with a black background. So either, create a Colour Card Layer in your timeline or fill in the background with some kind of a background layer whether it's a solid color or a painting.
2- Go to the Top Bar > File > Export > Movie
3- Next, choose H264 from the drop down menu. From there, set the name and location for your file.
(Movie files cannot include a transparent background. So this form of export is not the most flexible within the scope of a full animation production)
If you would like to create a color background...
In the Timeline, click the same + button you would normally press to create a new drawing layer. However, on the drop down menu, instead of choosing to create a drawing, instead create a "Colour Card"
The colour card by default will give you a white background. If you see grey blocks appear in your canvas area, that simply means that the colour card is currently selected.
Make sure that the colour card is on the bottom layer of your timeline
If you want to change the color of the background, you can right-click on the colour card in the timeline > Layer Properties > Then under layer properties, you can change it to the color of your choice.
Exporting over a Clear Background, so you can later choose a color or create background artwork.
If you used Vector art Follow these Steps
1- Be sure to turn off your Colour Card Layer's visibility by checking the eye icon next to it in the timeline (or delete the Colour Card).
2- Go to the Top Bar > File > Export > SWF.
(An SWF file is a movie version of a vector file. Meaning that you can Zoom into it as much as you like, and it will never pixilate. This is a very useful format in any kind of animation production)
If you used Bitmap art, and would like to export with a transparent background. Follow the steps outlined in this Short Video.
(This is usually my preferred method)
