As an aspiring art educator, my journey has been shaped by my passion for creating inclusive, equitable, and safe learning environments where every student feels valued and supported. I believe that all students, regardless of their abilities, backgrounds, or experiences, deserve meaningful opportunities to express themselves authentically. My EDUC 350/386 experience has given me so many tools and insights to help make this a reality.
Throughout my semester, we have explored strategies for fostering safe classrooms, adapting to diverse needs, and ensuring equity in every aspect of teaching. These discussions have deepened my understanding of how to create spaces where students feel seen, heard, and capable of achieving their potential. What resonated most with me was the focus on being adaptive and responsive as a teacher—not just delivering lessons but meeting students where they are and empowering them to grow in ways that matter to them. This experience has reinforced my commitment to becoming an educator who doesn’t just teach content but also helps students discover their voices and feel confident in who they are.
