Arrowhead Beach Co-Op Water Association manages a community water well system for the Arrowhead Beach Community. It consists of five wells that supply water for properties on Arrowhead, Arrowhead Beach and part of Tillicum Way. We also manage a community boat ramp located on Arrowhead Beach Road. The association was formed as a non-profit corporation in 1946. It is managed by a five-member board of trustees. In our co-operative, there are currently 80 households serviced, 6 lots included but not connected and 11 lots currently not being served by the co-operative.

Water Leak #1
In the process of repairing the leak, we have determined how the leak has been eluding us. A very curious thing occurred! The water was turned off to the lower section of Arrowhead in order to make the repairs. The pit they were digging in was full of water due to the leak.. As soon as the water was turned off, the water drained within 2 minutes. A sump pump was unnecessary!! Upon closer examination, it was evident that the leaked water was flowing into a vein of sand and gravel that was just below the broken pipe. And subsequently flowing out into the Skagit Bag, and this is why there was no standing water or puddles to aid in locating the leak.
The water main pipe was cracked through and through due to an underground boulder that must have settled over the years and pushed against the pipe, causing it to crack. The crack leaked, but held together well enough that some water flow was maintained for Arrowhead beach houses. The leaking pipe is about 4 feet below grade. In the photo, the boulder is on one side of the pipe and you see some blue rags that they guys were using laying in the pit on the other side.
After the repair, water flow at the pump house outlet returned to a normal range of 2 to 4 GPM. Before the leak repair, the flow was typically 16 GPM. The repaired section of pipe is now leak free!!
