The Arrowhead Beach Water Cooperative Association has adopted this policy to provide guidance to our membership and future boards as to the agreed upon method with which excessive water usage is to be evaluated for relief if a member requests it.
Membership responsibilities:
Members of the Arrowhead Beach Water Cooperative are responsible for all in-ground plumbing lines from the water meter at the edge of their property to the structure; including plumbing inside and under the structure. It is the member’s responsibility to maintain the accessibility to the meter box from landscaping, fences, and all other obstructions.
Cooperative responsibilities:
The cooperative is responsible for the water meter and the water meter box and all distribution lines up to the water meter at the edge of a member’s property.
Adjustment policy:
Each member of the cooperative is allowed one request every 2 years to adjust their water bill based on excessive usage.
In all cases, the base rate must be paid in full prior to any relief from the board.
For leaks to be considered for forgiveness they may not be located within water features, irrigation systems, pools, hot tubs, etc.
The board will review the request at the board meeting following the complete submission of the request.
For a request to be complete, the member must show proof that the leak has been identified and any fix completed prior to the board’s review.
Proof of fixing the leak requires copies of receipts or other documentation that the repair has been properly completed.
Important, please note: If the leak has been repaired by anyone other than a registered plumber, there must be some proof that the leak is resolved. Such as:
Photographs of the repair
Verification that the water meter does not indicate any water flow when all water faucets, showers, laundry, and other typical in-house water usage points are turned off.
