Lieutenant Colonel Gus Krapf was appointed as a Georgia State Trooper in December of 2011. In 2021, he was promoted to Senior Trooper after being in the agency for 10 years. During those 10 years, he worked as a detective for the Criminal Investigations Section, a SWAT Operator for the SWAT Team, a canine officer, and served as a field training officer. In 2023, he was appointed as Atlanta District Public Information Officer and Lieutenant Colonel shortly after. Lieutenant Colonel Krapf is still part time with all of his previous units on top of being the PIO.
