Standard 7 - Assessment – The competent teacher understands and uses appropriate formative and summative assessments for determining student needs, monitoring student progress, measuring student 6 growth, and evaluating student outcomes. The teacher makes decisions driven by data about curricular and instructional effectiveness and adjusts practices to meet the needs of each student.

Our final project In Educational Psychology is an example of meeting the Standard 7 for the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards. In this project I used Google Forms and the text to create an 8 multiple choice quiz with 2 essay questions. This quiz will evaluate my class's progress and the understanding of the text's Chapter 1.
The next part of this project that meets Standard 7 requirements is my analysis of 10 people, "my class", that took the quiz. Provided is the mean, median, and mode, t score and z score.
This project meets Standard 7 requirements by using data analysis to showcase students academic comprehension.
