Crafting Incense: From Burners to Handmade Sticks
Crafting Incense: From Burners to Handmade Sticks
There’s something incredibly personal about the creative process—something that often goes beyond a desire to make something beautiful or functional. For me, my creativity is intricately tied to my healing journey. Eventually, when I share my origin story, you’ll see just how deep that connection runs. But for now, let me tell you a little bit about where I am today.
I’m entirely self-taught, and that’s one of the things I love most. Often, a spark of an idea will pop into my head, and without overthinking it, I just go for it. Speaking of spark, let me jump into what’s going on today.
I’ve always been drawn to incense—the way the scent lingers in the air, the hypnotic patterns in the smoke as it rises, and, of course, the energy-shifting magic it brings to any space. Something about it instantly transforms a room, setting the perfect atmosphere for relaxation, meditation, or simply unwinding after a long day.
Over the years, I’ve been on a quest to find the perfect incense burner—one that would capture every delicate bit of ash that falls. So many times, small pieces would escape and elude the dish. Earlier this year, I finally discovered the perfect mold and began crafting incense holders with Jesin, creating many for family and friends.
So, what’s next on this creative journey? It only makes sense that my next step would be to create my own incense.
Today marks the beginning of that next step. I’ve gathered a few essential ingredients to craft my first batch, the Self-Love incense. This incense will feature the calming, uplifting combination of rose and bergamot essential oils. These oils soothe the soul and promote feelings of positivity and balance, making them the perfect fit for this project.
As I write, my mind is already buzzing with ideas for different combinations and the exciting possibilities of creating unique and captivating scents. I’ll keep you posted on how things go and share my progress as I continue this creative experiment. It’s exciting to see where this next phase of my journey takes me, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.
