The first highly publicized famous sighting on June 24, 1947, reported by Kenneth Arnold, a civilian pilot flying around Mount Rainier stated that he saw a string of nine shiny objects flew pass him going at a speed of over 1200mph. The term "flying disc," sparked the UFO Phenomenon Era.
Approximately a week later, another incident occurred in Roswell, New Mexico. Reported by William Brazel, who found debris of a UFO crash at a ranch nearby Roswell, New Mexico. He discovered unusual parts such as foil reflectors, metallic sticks, and paper scraps. Puzzled by what he found, he had no clue on what to do with the parts, so he called the local sheriff. Then the sheriff reported it to the Roswell Army Air Force who took the parts away from the area.
Reported sightings increased, and more and more people began to believe that there is another life outside of the universe.
