We officially accept students pursuing a PhD in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in one of the following programs: Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), and Mechanical Engineering (ME).
For Fall 2025 graduate (PhD) admissions, please apply to the ECE (preferred) PhD program (or CSE or ME) **first** and list Dr. Karydis's name in your SOP, and **then** contact us by completing the form above. We are looking for prospective students with strong robotics background, and we can accommodate a range of potential interests. However, at different admission cycles, we may need to emphasize specific areas. For the 2024-2025 cycle, we are primarily looking for prospective students with strong background and interest in one or two of the following areas:
Real-time Robot Learning and Control
Multi-robot Task and Motion Planning
Aerial Robotics (Control, Learning, and Perception)
Legged Robotics (Design, Control, Learning, and Perception)
Agricultural Robotics (Mechatronics, Embedded Systems Design, and Field Testing)
Soft Robotics (Track A: Design, Mechanics, and Motion Generation and Tracking; Track B: Control, Learning, and Perception)
