Ours was probably a kit house sold in the early twentieth century. I talked to the previous owner's nephew, Robert Robert, and he had no recollection that it was a kit but he did not dispute it.

My studies show our house is a four square. The house is divides in four rooms on each floor. In this case the kitchen, the dining room, and very large living room taking the last two squares. There was a large folding set of doors that separated the dining room from the living room.

Upstairs there are four large bedrooms. The staircase rises among them with a hallway to join front to back. Downstairs under the hallway and staircase we had a small office which also served as the grand entrance french doors. This entrance was rarely used.
