The area was still a working farm when we bought the house. There were milking cows in the barn and there was hay being stored in barns. The fields were being used for haying or grain.

My dad was occasionally asked to help the farmers. Once he helped castrate squealing piglets. Another time ,because my father could read english , he helped them to build a harvesting combine from a kit.

It must have been 1966 or 1967. The autoroute 30 overpasses were finished but the autoroute ramps and road were not.

The Manic power lines are in the background. Interestingly these power lines survived the ice storm and the newer ones did not. Our neighbours down Range 25 got expropriated for the new set of lines a couple of years later.
