The sail loft "Larsen Sails"
Roof of the garage for "WJ Critchlow Plumbing and Heating"
We built many businesses in our house. The first being my Dad's plumbing and heating. He did extremely well leading up to Expo 67 where he put in basement bathrooms in the St Bruno area. Friends and families flocked to Montreal to visit the fair. We built a garage, 30 by 30 foot where he based his business and oher ventures.
One of the firsts was the antique business. My mom and her sister would strip furniture of the leaded paint. They would then beeswax them. They would glow.
The most long lasting was the sail-making business. It was started in the attic. The bigger sails were cut in other places such as gyms or even in Longueuil Boating Club.
