(A Comprehensive Guide for Faction Rep Farming)
Thanks to Shuga, apo11y0n. and DetectiveKoala for technical input. -Cryophoenix
Reputation in AQW refers to a specific level of trust a player has with each faction.
If the player's reputation is high enough, they are allowed to buy certain items, complete certain quests, etc, from members of that faction.
Otherwise, they are locked out of those faction-exclusive items/quests.
Faction Ranks run from 0 to 10.
Reputation does not decay over time, so if you reach a certain rank, it's yours to keep permanently.
Reputation can be checked in game by clicking on your character's face (top left) and clicking the Reputation option. This will display your current factions and the Reputation you've gained with them:
In AQW, there are a few ways to increase the amount of Rep gained per quest.
Server Boost: These are when the server itself provides an automatic boost. You can find these on the official AQW Calendar. For example, whenever a Double Rep Boost or Double ALL Boost is active, you will receive 2x the Rep.
Consumable Boost: These are when you use an item that provide extra Rep.
They generally have this symbol on them when you click on them in your inventory ->
and generally provide a 2x boost for a limited amount of time when consumed.
Boosted Items: These are when you equip an item that provides extra Rep.
They will come with a symbol indicating they grant more Rep when equipped, and is permanent.
You can find Reputation boosting items on the AQWWiki's Boosted Items page.
The key point to know is that these three different sources of Rep boost will stack together. ✔
For example, a Server 2x Boost, a Consumable 2x Boost, and an Item +25% Rep Boost results in
2 × 2 × 1.25 = a 5× Boost to Rep points.
You cannot stack the same type of boost together, however. ✘
For example, a Cape with +25% Rep Boost will NOT stack with an Armor with +15% Rep Boost.
You will only get the Cape's +25% Rep Boost.
This is a method for quickly raising some Factions' reputations to Rank 10.
This method doesn't work as well for Non-Members.
Reputations in this Guide that can use this method will be marked with a ⭐
Early on, it's fairly difficult to get a Rep Boosting item.
The best items you can get at a low level are
Awethur's Accoutrements (unlocked after completing the Blade of Awe Questline, which is doable with help from other players). See below.
Gives +15% Rep Boost.
Apprentice of Awe set (unlocked after completing the level 25 quest, The Dawn of Lore, from Trissa in /join museum).
This requires one to have completed a good chunk of Dwarfhold, Darkovia, and Yokai storylines.
In return, it also unlocks some damage boosting items besides the +15% Rep Boost.
If your account is older than 15 months, the DoomKnight BattleMage set in the Book of Lore may also come in handy as the weapons provide +15% Rep Boost.
Guide for Blade of Awe:
Find the Stonewrit:
- Kill either the Green Dragon in /join greendragon (higher drop chance) OR
- Kill the Sketchy Dragon in /join j6 (lower drop chance)
Find the Handle:
- Kill the Elementals in /join gilead
Find the Hilt:
- Kill the Undead in /join castleundead
Find the Blade:
- Kill the Hydra in /join hydra. Follow the video guide to access the Hydra
Find the Runes:
- Kill Escherion in /join escherion.
As there are often "players" constantly fighting him on Artix server, leech off of them.
After completing the quests, go back to Valencia in /join museum.
Open the Gear of Awe shop and purchase this weapon for its +15% bonus to Class Points, EXP, Gold, and Reputation.
Doing Reagents for Zifwin Quest in /nibbleon can reward you with a 10 Minutes Rep/Gold/Class Point Boost.
Logging in 5 days in a row will give 4x 20 minutes boost from each (Rep/Gold/Class Point/Exp).
Having a friendship level of 2 hearts (8 daily quests that decay over Time) with Twig, Twilly, and Zorbak will give you a single consumable 20 min boost for Gold, Exp, and Rep respectively for each day you maintain that level of friendship
Spinning the Wheel of Doom in /doom, will give you a 1 hour Exp Boost. These can be merged into the other three boosts in the merge shop.
(you can spin the wheel once a week if Non-Member).
However, having Membership active will give you a non-transferrable daily bonus spin.
Being Member also gives access to Ragnar's daily quest in /battleon, this quest gives a 1h booster of your choice.
Purchasing a Membership or ACs package will also give bonus boosters, depending on your package:
Membership package of 1 , 3 or 6 months and 2000 or 5000 ACs package will give 5 Rep/Gold/Class Point/Exp Boosts.
Membership package of 12 months and 12000 ACs package will give 10 Rep/Gold/Class Point/Exp Boosts.
Buying a 40000 ACs package will give 15 Rep/Gold/Class Point/Exp Boosts and 10 Wheel of Doom spin tickets.
!! For all of these, it is highly advised to turn on Re-Accept Quest After Turn-in and Quest Log Turn In in the Advanced Options settings. !!
This will save you time in skipping the need to return to the Quest NPCs.
These are some of the first Reputation factions you'll encounter.
Most of them can be completed by doing the story with just a few Boosts active.
They are generally important for early game classes, so try not to skip them.
Factions in this page: Dwarfhold:⭐, Yokai:⭐, Lycan:⭐, Vampire:⭐, Mythsong:⭐, Arcangrove:⭐, Sandsea:⭐, Troll:⭐, Horc:⭐, Chronospan:⭐, ThunderForge:⭐, Swordhaven:⭐, Chaos:⭐
These are also some of the first Reputation factions you'll encounter, though some of them enter into early-midgame.
Some of them are required for midgame classes, so it's best to still farm them.
Of the Factions listed here, three (Brightoak, Glacera, Embersea⭐) are part of the now discontinued original Queen of Monsters Saga.
Factions in this page: Brightoak, Glacera, Good⭐, Evil⭐, Skyguard (Member-Only)⭐, Doomwood⭐, Etherstorm⭐, Embersea⭐, Northpointe⭐, Ravenloss⭐
These are a few midgame factions with some of them having useful applications.
They're mostly dead-end reputations, so it's optional for if you wish to have them maxed besides Eternal and Mysterious Dungeon.
Factions in this page: Baconcat, Death Pit Arena, Death Pit Brawl, Eternal, Mysterious Dungeon
These are some unrelated reputations that just happen to be seasonal.
At least a few of them are worth farming for things like badges or classes.
Factions in this page: Birthday Hero, Brethwren, Faerie Court, Goat
These are a set of reputations that are found around Battleon (with the exception of Beastmaster, which is found in Northpointe instead).
A good number of them are useful throughout your journey to endgame.
Blacksmithing and Blade of Awe for example, are non-negotiable if you want to be an endgame player.
Factions in this page: Alchemy, BeastMaster (Member-Only), Blacksmithing, Blade of Awe, Fishing, Loremaster, Pet Tamer
These are a set of reputations that are found in /join dragonrune.
Most of them don't have much use besides SpellCrafting.
However, some of the others can come in handy if you are Member or wanting to collect Reps / items for collection.
Factions in this page: Druid Grove, Elemental Master, Necro Crypt, SpellCrafting, TreasureHunter
These are also some of the last Reputation factions you'll encounter as most of them enter into late-endgame.
Some of them are required for classes or lategame items, but many of them are functionally useless.
Their major uses will be listed at the top of their sections so you can pick and choose what to farm and what not to farm.
Factions in this page: Aegis, Chaos Militia Faction, Diabolical Faction, Dreadfire, Dreadrock, Infernal Army, Monster Hunter, Skye, Somnia, Yew Mountains
These are some Reputation factions that don't really fit anywhere. You may or may not encounter them as you enter into late-endgame.
Some of them are required for classes or lategame items.
Their major uses will be listed at the top of their sections so you can pick and choose what to farm and what not to farm.
