AQUÍ is a space to read, play, and create in Cerro Azul . You can access books, games, workshops, labs, and artistic and cultural activities for free, creating a welcoming space for community connection and togetherness. Welcome!
AQUÍ is located in Cerro Azul, the port of dreams, a district in the province of Cañete, within the Lima region. It is a coastal area situated 132 km south of Lima.
Cerro Azul is a place rich in history: it was once the territory of the ancient Guarco people, a pre-Inca culture that later became part of the Inca state and the Qhapaq Ñan, or Inca Trail.
This beautiful seaside town is the home where the AQUI library was born.
My name is Verity Vélez de Villa Ramis. I studied Communications with a focus on Performing Arts and have over 20 years of experience in artistic creation and pedagogy.
I'm passionate about the intersection of arts and education, and that passion led me to create AQUÍ in Cerro Azul—a space where we grow dreams and knowledge hand in hand with our community.
We are deeply grateful to the individuals, institutions and businesses currently collaborating with the library:
Management support: Aldo Cáceda Salas
Library assistant: Carmen Campos Espinoza
Front gate support: Rosa Pineda Espinoza
Sticker Design : Andrea Sandoval
Space provided by: NGO Alma Cápac
Water Dispenser: Aqua Sur
And to everyone who donated books, furniture and materials, as well as those who contributed financially to make our events possible. Thank you!
AQUÍ library is located three blocks from the Plaza de Cerro Azul and one block from the market.
