There are some things you should know if you plan to set up an aquaponic system in which you and your family can grow vegetables and fish. The basic concepts you need to know before venturing into this practise are the types of fish, the seeds that can be propagated and the specifics of the acceptable water conditions. You should start putting all the pieces of the puzzle together until you know that. However, another question arises: where are you supposed to put your aquaponic mini-garden?
The response is simple: as long as the location has enough light for the plants, you can place it wherever you want. To prepare their food, the plants need light. If there is no or little light in the place where they are kept, they will be unable to prepare their food, which will lead to their death in time. It's something that you don't like! Yet, if you have a space where there is moderate light (regardless of whether it's your kitchen, dining room, or garage), then there's where you can put your aquaponic garden.
There are also some other aspects you would need to take into account if you live in an region with high temperatures or weather conditions. Second, the temperature: you want a moderate temperature for your fish, so you can track it to meet the needs of your fish. If you are in a desert, you will need to keep them safe from direct solar rays, while you will need to make sure that the water is warm enough to give your fish a good habitat if it is freezing outside.
As they are very susceptible to that, you should also keep your fish and plants away from chemicals, so the room where you keep your cleaning products would not be a perfect place for them. Instead, go to airy areas where plants can feel good and at mild temperatures so that the fish grow and develop properly.
