The cost to purchase even a PC has skyrocketed tremendously, I remember less than a decade ago, one could purchase a fairly decent computer for less than a thousand, but not anymore. What I was most shocked by was the staggering cost of operating systems; it’s tantamount to robbery to charge over 200 dollars for something of that nature, but I suppose with the market share that Microsoft has they can charge as they please.
On a positive note, I have noticed that the cost of high-capacity solid state drives has gone down by a significant amount, just a few years ago they cost many times what they cost now, but not anymore. I suppose that as technology stops being novel, and become more entrenched and mainstream, prices will naturally fall. Probably the most important thing the reinforcement of the fact that I cannot afford to upgrade my computer.
