ABOUT THE COURSE

2-years post-graduate program in Applied Statistics and Analytics and 3 year graduation program are introduced as a unit of Department of Applied Science at MAKAUT in 2020. The inception of this course leads to a strong commitment to excellence in teaching with a practical approach towards education which has attracted talented students from all over the country. This course offers a blend of the rigor of the statistical methodology complemented with application of the concepts on real life problem. This gives the students ample opportunity to up skill themselves in varied fields of interest ranging from data analysis, applied multivariate analysis, predictive model building with regression analysis, time series analysis and forecasting methods to clinical trials, biostatistics, and econometrics in finance. The course also draws its major attention towards Machine learning, Operation Research, Business Analytics which will help students to grow as a statistician/data analyst in a much better way. Students here gets exposure and access to challenging work domains which are heavily analytical problem solving based. The program prepares them for a career in different sectors like analytics, banking, insurance, risk management etc. Also this course supplements the profiles with strong trainings in software skills like R, Python, , SPSS etc.
