Google Assistant

Automate your Google Assistant with useful commands and actions.

Create advanced Assistant widgets onto your home screen

You may have heard about Google's new Action Blocks app for Android and how it has the potential to make Assistant infinitely more useful. When you get to know the app you will discover some hidden power-user possibilities that make it even more valuable.

Action Blocks lets you create one-tap buttons for triggering Assistant actions from your home screen — without having to say anything out loud or risk having the wrong Assistant device pick up your command.

It turns out, its buttons can do a lot more than you'd expect.

For instance, you can create an Action Block that triggers multiple Assistant actions at the same time ("Take my phone off silent and read my messages," "Turn on Bluetooth and set my media volume to 80%," or even "Put my phone on silent and set an alarm for 7am and play babbling brook sounds," for example)

Or you can create Action Block widgets that make things happen across different Assistant devices in one fell swoop (e.g. "Put my phone on silent and turn off the office lights and play nature sounds on my office display").

You can also use Action Blocks to trigger Assistant routines and even do some super-advanced stuff with the help of third-party services.

You can get the Action Blocks app in the Play Store and then check out this complete guide from Computer World to explore the possibilities.
