Automation

Android being Android [and not iOS or other closed systems] provides the user with virtually unlimited opportunities for customisation.

One really powerful area is automation and to this end there are a whole range of products available to help with the task.

Fortunately you don't have to start from scratch as others in the Android community continue to develop and share their efforts.

Button Mapper

Click here to read about an App called Button Mapper, that is available from the Play Store for Android TV and boxes, that is used within Accessibility Service - the example provided is for taking screenshots but the mechanism can be used for other features of your choice.

Custom Voice Commands

Click here to read "Check How to Get More Google Now Custom Voice Commands" which features two Apps called Commandr and AutoVoice either of which can be run in conjunction with Tasker [see below] to perform an incredible range of task automation.

Tasker

One well respected App to help with your automation is called Tasker and it is available from the Play Store for a small fee allowing you to put in some effort to create amazing things.

An example of using Tasker is covered in an article called "How to add practically anything into the Android 11 power menu" from Computer World that shows what can be done [in this case you require Android 11 or above] to make some impressive customisations to the standard Power Menu to do virtually anything you like.

Click here for a Jan 2021 video "Supercharge Google Assistant with Tasker!" recommended by Brian [the Automater] that introduces you to examples of what can be achieved.

Click here for an Android Police article from June 2021 called "A beginner's guide to Tasker: How to automate (almost) anything on your phone" that is a good place to start.

Click here for the joaoapps site that has lots of information on Tasker, and other products, that you use to get started.
