Abstract - Alveolar ridge preservation

Alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) is a solution that can make further implant surgery easier. As we all know, the bundle bone inserted to cementum, usually, the buccal plate is thin. When the tooth was extracted, the bundle bone resorbed inevitably due to wound healing process.

There are somethings important you need to know about ARP: At first, you must have a skill for minimal invasive extraction. Secondly, you know how to use surgical curettes, high speed bur, or Er. YAG LASER to remove all the granulation tissues. Then, let’s check the socket wall integrity. Choose the proper technique, that include bone graft and membrane selection. And always remember to inform patients that we might need some minor bone augmentation during implant surgery, and  also need some soft tissue graft after that.

Alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) is an easy way to make bone, that is the crucial thing for put the implant on the right position to achieve long term implant stability.
