This production of The Tempest utilized shadow puppets in several major sequences. As a stage management apprentice, I was in charge of notating puppet choreography, and maintaining necessary paperwork (examples below).
Actor and songwriter Jordan Coughtry composed the songs for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival's 2025 production of The Tempest.
Due to popular demand, Jordan released the demo recordings of the songs on Spotify following the opening of the production. You can stream these recordings using the link below!
Actors utilized fabric for the opening sequence, as well as the opening number of Act II. Tracking the fabric and wrapping our 'bees' each night was a part of my track each performance.
Not only did Jordan compose the score for the production, but he also played and sang it live at every performance! Handing off the instruments and ensuring that they were plugged into the wireless mic was a part of my track every performance.
