Our set utilized an automation system that created an elevator center stage. This platform raised to act as furniture, and was lowered during a scene where a character is burned at the stake (pictured above)
In the final scene of the performance, actors wrote on the set with chalk. My experience using chalk on Julius Caesar the previous semester came in handy for cleaning and resetting the space as chalk dust can be difficult to remove!
Fabric was used as part of the set, costumes, and props! One moment, it would be hanging between beams of the set, the next it was used as a pregnancy bump, and then as a baby! Because each fabric had specific measurements and textures, they were numbered for tracking purposes.
